Rangaprasad Rangarajan is a seasoned leader and a software technologist with over 22 years of global experience in the field. At PayPal India Pvt. Ltd., he heads the engineering for PayPal’s next generation of Payments Systems. His specializations include building enterprise solutions as well as large scale distributed systems for eCommerce and payments systems. Ranga also leads the Innovations charter for PayPal India Development center where his charter is to foster innovation within all phases of the software development lifecycle to maximize the results. 

Prior to joining PayPal, Ranga was a Sr. Development Manager in Amazon, responsible for the core distributed digital platform services for Amazon Kindle, Video and Music. He was instrumental in the development of these multi-regional platforms that addressed the challenges of extremely low latency problem space while leading with large temporal datasets. Earlier, he also led engineering teams in a couple of startups. In one of the startups his work focussed on building a cloud enabled, appliance to meet the industry need for a highly contextualized rapid response CRM system to enable improved customer loyalty, recognition and service delivery. 

Before moving back to India in 2004, he spent 14 years in the US and Singapore, where he worked as a Software Architect in various division of Hewlett Packard building enterprise grade solutions. Ranga has a bachelors’ degrees from the University of Bangalore in Electronics and Communication from BMS College of Engineeting. Ranga and his wife Nidhi live in Chennai
